Georgia ops showcase distance learning. (cable television operators)

On Thursday, a handful of Georgia-based cable systems will work with AT&T and Digital Equipment Corp. to demonstrate real-time, interactive video medicine and distance education. The demonstration will stretch over a signaling path more than 100 miles in length and combine those feeds with a remote satellite connection.
Systems taking part are owned by Scripps-Howard Cable Services, Georgia Cable TV and Communications, and Tele-Communications Inc. The demonstration, organized by the Georgia Cable Television Association, attempts to showcase cable's capabilities for a heavyweight Atlanta audience. That audience includes Gov.
