Frankfort, Ky. system doesn't relish its MTV. (Kentucky-based Community Cable Service to discontinue contract with MTV Networks Inc.)

A municipally owned cable system in Frankfort, Ky., is considering dropping MTV: Music Television over both the channel's content and rate policy. A community citizens advisory committee was scheduled to meet last Thursday afternoon -- at press time -- to generate recommendations on whether or not the network should be removed from Community Cable Service.
"The pressure is on them; there's a whole lot of hell-raising going on about this," said Howard Norrell, former president of Frankfort's Consolidated TV Cable Service Inc., which was sold to Community this year.
