VH1 will serve as sole media sponsor for Paul McCartney's upcoming New World Tour, scheduled to launch April 14 in Las Vegas. The network's extensive involvement will include on- and off-air elements, local and national contests, and various programming events, according to Bo Overlock, VH1's director of marketing and promotion.

"McCartney is a huge guy for VH1," he said. Programming elements will encompass a wide variety of McCartney offerings. VH1 is currently serving as the tour's "authority," the source for location updates and information on tickets, which went on sale Feb 20.
