Cablevision Systems Corp. last week offered hard evidence that personal communications services delivered through cable networks could combine all the advantages of cellular and microcellular services into a single low-cost service. At a demonstration in Lynbrook, Long Island, N.Y., MSO officials drove reporters through a neighborhood corridor of cable-connected microcellular transmitters, allowing them to make phone calls as they sped from one microcell coverage area to another.
