Cablevision picks up Time Warner's New York 1 News. (Cablevision Systems Corp.; Time Warner Inc. New York City Cable Group)

NEW YORK -- New York City's 24-hour all-news cable channel, New York 1 News, last week gained wider city distribution and 185,000 new subscribers through an agreement with Cablevision Systems Corp. Time Warner's New York 1 News, which celebrates its first anniversary this week, is now being carried by Cablevision systems in Brooklyn and the Bronx as well as on Time Warner Cable systems covering other parts of the city.

With the addition of the Cablevision systems, the news channel reaches more than 1.1 million households in the five boroughs. New York 1 News had been carried only on Time Warner's New York city cable systems.
