Cable nets dispute numbers on sliding ratings.

Recently published reports claiming that basic cable's prime-time ratings are sliding for the first time have sparked a controversy over the accuracy of certain Nielsen Media Research data. The Committee on National Cable Audience Measurement (CONCAM) is sending a letter to John Dimling, president and COO of NMR, regarding what it considers inconsistencies in primetime cable figures and the way information is released, said Jonathan Sims, vice president of research for the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau.
