Sega Channel signs first deals; plans spring tests. (video game channel) (Programming)

The Sega Channel has signed its first affiliate agreements, making deals with a handful of MSOs, Sega announced last week. The video game company said it has agreements with Coaxial Communications, Sammons Communications, the National Cable Television Cooperative and MetroVision, in addition to parent companies Tele-Communications Inc.
and Time Warner Cable. Sega Channel president Stan Thomas declined to give out an approximation of actual launch figures, saying that number depended to a large degree on how quickly hardware vendors could manufacture adapters home viewers will need to play the games.
