Pay nets growing amid basic worries. (pay TV networks; basic cable TV)(Industry Overview)

After a stellar 1994, premium networks and cable operators report that growth has continued at a steady pace this year. Publicly, the pay TV networks said they remain bullish on cable sales, but privately, pay network executives are concerned that cable operators will take their eye off the premium business if the telecom bill becomes law and operators are free to raise basic rates again.
"We had to struggle for years, then we had two great years, and now we're going to have to struggle again," said a Home Box Office Inc. source who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "Do I worry?
