Spain's telecommunications bill finally in sight.

MADRID, SPAIN - One of the most anxiously awaited regulatory developments in Europe, the passage of the telecommunications cable bill in Spain, is now in sight.

Spain's central government law to regulate telecom services by cable will be passed next month, according to parliamentary sources. After being approved in Congress on Oct. 25, the draft has gone to the Senate, which would return it to Congress for final approval.

To avoid more delays, the Socialist Parliamentary Group has amended the bill, drafted by Spain's Ministry of Public Works, Transportation and the Environment, to attract more support.
