Many Antenna Towers Are Stalled More companies are looking closely at using cable plant to deliver personal communications services after finding unexpected problems and delays in building out their PCS networks. A number of sources said Sprint Spectrum L.P., after deciding that upgraded cable plant wouldn't be available on a broad enough scale in time to support its PCS rollout schedule, has renewed its search for a cable solution in the wake of encountering unexpected problems in arranging for antenna towers throughout its territories.

The latest developments center on new tests that Sprint and Cable Television Laboratories Inc. have scheduled and the emergence of Lockheed Martin Corp.'s Sanders as major new technology suppliers for the PCS market. ...
