Embattled Adelphia Communications Corp., the cable industry's standard-bearer in its first head-to-head confrontation with a regional telephone company's interactive video dialtone system, is fighting back in Dover Township, N.J. Stung by a barrage of aggressive marketing tactics unleashed by FutureVision of America Corp., the entertainment software company leasing Bell Atlantic Corp.'s new fiber optic lines in the southern New Jersey community, Adelphia has slashed its expanded basic cable price for 74 channels by 25 percent, from $25.28 to $18.95, in areas where it competes directly with FutureVision.
