Fox Sports plays hardball with Disney. (Fox Sports Net sues Walt Disney Co. for encouraging Los Angeles cable-television operators to boycott Fox Sports West 2)

The regional sports battle in Los Angeles took a bizarre turn last week, when Fox Sports Net filed suit against The Walt Disney Co. and several of its subsidiaries for effectively encouraging local cable operators to boycott distribution of Fox Sports West 2. Fox scored a legal win against Disney and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks hockey team last week, when an Orange County superior court judge ruled in favor of Fox in its dispute over whether it had the right to move Mighty Ducks games from the highly distributed Fox Sports West 1 channel to the beleaguered second channel.
