NEW YORK -- A science fiction net may be in Viacom Inc.'s future in 2001, chairman and CEO Sumner Redstone said last week. Viacom's non-compete agreement with USA Networks-owned Sci-Fi Channel expires then, and Redstone hopes to retrieve Viacom-owned programs like Star Trek.
