Summit Caps Tough Week for Hollywood.

WASHINGTON -- It wasn't a good week for Hollywood, as the industry that cranks out teen-slasher flicks had to absorb high-level jabs that its entertainment products contributed in some way to the 15-death massacre at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo., last month. Last Monday, President Clinton used a Rose Garden setting to blame violent movies, video games and music lyrics for coarsening the culture, and he warned Hollywood officialdom not to bury its head in the sand.
"We cannot pretend that there is no impact on our culture and our children that is adverse if there is too much violence coming out of what they see and experience," Clinton said. His comments followed a three-hour meeting with 60 participants, including Washington lobbyists,...
