PRINCETON, N.J. -- RCN Corp. added a commercial-free online service for children to its rcn.com Internet package last week. The deal allows RCN's online customers to subscribe to JuniorNet Corp.'s children's service at a discounted rate.

In East Coast markets from Boston to Washington, D.C., RCN offers bundled packages of local and long-distance telephone, cable television and Internet access over its fiber networks.

RCN recently bought 47.5 percent of Boston-based JuniorNet, which provides online content from children's publications including Highlights for Children and Sports Illustrated for Kids.
