Although the primary battles pitting Al Gore against Bill Bradley and George W. Bush against John McCain are still months away from being fought -- and the Reform Party has yet to pick its standard-bearer -- many cable executives are well along in mapping out "Campaign 2000" strategies of their own.
National Cable Communications plans to name a Washington, D.C.-based political specialist -- a newly created position -- to work with the Republican National Committee and Democratic National Committee on media planning for presidential and congressional Campaign 2000 races, NCC senior vice president and director of sales Andrew Ward said.
