Basic-Cable Ratings Rise Just 2% in 1Q Facing tough competition from broadcast and Who Wants to be a Millionaire, cable's broad-based networks saw their ratings drop in the first quarter. Most of the top five basic-cable networks saw their primetime ratings decline this January through March compared with a year ago.
