Veteran Olympic documentarian Bud Greenspan doesn't usually generate controversy with his work, but that may have changed. Known more for projects like Sydney 2000 Olympics: Bud Greenspan's Gold from Down Under- due Aug. 26 on Showtime - the filmmaker recently produced a promotional film for mainland China, to help persuade the International Olympic Committee to award the 2008 Summer Olympics hosting rights to the most populous nation.

Afterward, Greenspan told Cable News Network's Web site that his film probably helped swing some IOC votes and that his film purposely ignored the human-rights issue because "the media had taken care of that."
