Royal Philips Electronics' decision to scale back its set-top and receiver product lines for the U.S. market is further proof of the strength of Motorola Inc. and Scientific-Atlanta Inc.'s digital-cable set-top duopoly, industry analysts say. And until a true retail market for cable set-tops emerges -- and a spate of proprietary conditional access issues are solved -- manufacturers such as Panasonic Consumer Electronics, Pace Micro Technology plc and Pioneer New Media Technologies Inc.
