Some satirical Web sites, such as The Onion, haven't let the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks deter them from finding a tasteful way of finding humor in calamity. But executives at Cable News Network were cut a break when TedsTurnovers.com -- a site put up by laid-off CNN employees -- called something of a truce by pulling its regular content after the attacks.

The site -- which has typically ripped CNN's new celebrity focus and labeled a picture of Cliff Claven from Cheers as AOL Time Warner CEO Gerald Levin (they actually do look alike) -- replaced its normal barbs with links to the American Red Cross and a simple message: "A time to connect not critique ... we ask that you do -- please:"
