Subscription video-on-demand users are watching such fare from 10 to 11 hours per month, according to early statistics generated by Scientific-Atlanta Inc. Users of SVOD also average 30 minutes per session and from 0.6 to 0.8 sessions per day, according to the set-top box manufacturer's study.
"Consumers treat the service differently," said S-A director of strategic marketing Dave Davies. S-A drew its SVOD results from several Time Warner Cable operations that have rolled out the technology, along with Adelphia Communications Corp.'s Cleveland system.
