DirecTV Inc. has kicked off its latest new-subscriber drive, promoting three free months of Starz Encore Group LLC'S 12-channel Starz SuperPak to first-time customers of the direct-broadcast satellite service. The company was set to launch the campaign yesterday (May 19) through a flight of commercials on cable networks, as well as print ads in Sunday newspaper supplements, said senior vice president of marketing Susan Collins.
The TV spots reprise the popular DirecTV installer character, with new taglines promoting the Starz offer. To be eligible for the offer, consumers must commit to a one-year Total Choice programming package.
