NEW YORK -- AT&T Corp. has named former AMR Corp. executive Thomas Horton as its new senior vice president and chief financial officer, replacing Charles Noski, who announced his intention to resign from the company in May. Noski, who was named vice chairman of AT&T in February, said in May that he would resign as CFO after the company completes the merger of its AT&T Broadband cable unit with Comcast Corp., expected by the end of the year.

Horton served as CFO of AMR, parent of American Airlines, and has been with the company since 1985. Horton will become a member of AT&T's Office of the Chairman, which (in addition to Noski) includes AT&T chairman and CEO C. Michael Armstrong and AT&T president David Dorman.
