WASHINGTON -- Fairfax, County, Va., extended a deadline for Cox Communications Inc. to upgrade 95 percent of its cable system until Sept. 30, 2003. But Fairfax plans to continue fining Cox $2,000 per day until the upgrade is completed. If Cox completes 95 percent of the upgrade by the new deadline, the escrowed funds will be returned.
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved the new upgrade schedule last Monday.
