In a shakeup at the top of Cable News Network's ad-sales unit, CNN News Group president Jim Walton last week said Larry Goodman was leaving, to be replaced as president of ad sales and marketing at CNN by his former lieutenant, Greg D'Alba. Goodman has been at CNN for nearly 20 years, and D'Alba has been there for 17 years.

D'Alba had been CNN's executive vice president of sales, rising to executive vice president and chief operating officer. Goodman, CNN's sales president since 1995, said it's been his long-held desire to retire by that time he turned 50. He's 49.
