Dallas -- Comcast Corp. is forging ahead with the task of upgrading former AT&T Broadband markets, this time starting construction on a digital fiber-optic network here. Comcast will spend $70 million on the network and its surrounding Texas cable system during the next year. That will bring digital-cable channels and high-speed Internet service to more areas.
The MSO plans to schedule most of the construction during the low television-viewing hours, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays, to minimize TV-service interruptions.
