No Bobcat channel. (Through the Wire).(Robert Johnson reconsiders setting up a regional sports network)(Brief Article)

Multichannel News, July, 2003 by Applebaum, Simon

It looks like Black Entertainment Television chairman Robert Johnson may not launch another cable service after all. Johnson said that the creation of a regional sports network was one of the appealing aspects of purchasing the team. Fox Sports Net officials have confirmed that they are talking to Johnson about securing TV rights to his Charlotte Bobcats National Basketball Association franchise. The club is scheduled to tip off its rookie season in 2004. The Wire could not reach Johnson for comment. Contributors: Jim Forkan, R. Thomas Umstead
