REDMOND, WASH. -- Microsoft Corp. is adding free video to its MSN Internet service in a bid to draw users from paid content services, as well as other Web portals. MSN officials said the service will be available this winter. The only content partners the company announced were MSNBC.com, CNBC and NBC News, which will supply segments from Dateline NBC, Meet the Press, Today and NBC Nightly News.

ABC News runs an Internet subscription service, and that content is also available as part of Real Networks Inc.'s RealOne SuperPass subscription service.
