Judy Girard is on the lookout for a distinct positioning--a unique brand--for Shop At Home in the electronic-retailing arena. While home-shopping giants QVC and HSN are like "general-market retail stores," Shop At Home "strikes me as a boutique and a specialty store," said Girard, who last week was named president of the Scripps Networks-owned channel.

She'll continue to serve as president of the Food Network until her replacement is named, and will split her time between New York and Shop At Home's Nashville headquarters. Girard succeeds Frank Woods, who becomes Shop At Home's chairman.
