NEEDHAM, MASS. -- Navic Networks Inc. has focused much effort on developing enhancements for interactive program guides. This week, at the National Show in New Orleans, CEO Frank Anthony said Navic plans to take the wraps off of a new on-demand programming interface that runs still images and video windows next to on-demand titles listed in an IPG.

Using that technology, a cable subscriber would be able to see a preview for a program on such channels as HBO on Demand before ordering the show. The Navic-enhanced IPG would also allow subscribers to search a database of programming titles from linear and VOD channels, Anthony said.
