ATLANTA -- Cox Communications Inc. said it has launched Scientific-Atlanta Inc's HDTV Explorer 8010 digital video recorder set-top box in San Diego. The MSO also plans additions in Phoenix; Las Vegas; Oklahoma City; Santa Barbara, Calif.; Northern Virginia; markets in North Carolina; Gainesville, Fla.
and other areas along the Gulf Coast. Cox is pricing the service at $9.95 a month, plus the $9.95 lease price of the HD set-top. Capable of recording up to 80 hours of programming, the box features a recording space used indicator, auto erase of oldest recordings, an enhanced all episode recording feature and a copy to VCR function.
