MTV will get 'Real' for 5 more seasons.(Programming Briefs)(Brief Article)

NEW YORK -- In the largest series order in its history, MTV: Music Television has picked up five more seasons of The Real World and two more runs of The Real World/Road Rules Challenge from Bunim Murray Productions. The Real World additions will carry the series through its 20th incarnation into 2008, making it the longest-running reality show in the history of cable television, according to the parties.
The Real World/Road Rules Challenge will air through 2006. Currently in its 15th season, The Real World from Philadelphia ranks first on basic cable in its time period, 10 p.m. on Tuesdays, among persons 12 through 34. The 16th season will begin production in Austin, Texas this quarter.
