Following a strong 2004 driven by the Summer Olympics and fall presidential election, the U.S. television advertising market will see modest growth in 2005, according to ZenithOptimedia. But the ad agency expects steady advertising advances through 2007, including significant gains from the Internet and cable-TV sectors.
ZenithOptimedia projects that cable will see strong growth, with national networks posting an estimated $12.9 billion in ad revenue in 2005, up from $11.8 billion last year. By 2007, cable networks will drive $14.7 billion in annual ad revenue, while network TV will still hold a sizable lead with an estimated $19.6 billion in annual revenue, according to ZenithOptimedia forecasts.
