SAN FRANCISCO -- New transport technology and product updates are expected to lead the list of vendor announcements at the National Show here this week. BigBand Networks Inc. is slated to introduce its new BRD210 (Broadband Real-Time Decoder) chassis built for gigabit-Ethernet decoding, as well as the new GFM103 card for the company's broadband multimedia router.

BigBand is eyeing the digital simulcast market for both products. The BRD210 was developed with Ktech Telecommunications Inc., BigBand said. It receives 1 Gbps of Moving Picture Experts Group content over Internet Protocol via a module, and can perform decoding for up to 40 analog video outputs with single audio, 20 with dual audio, or any combination in between.
