PETACH, ISRAEL -- ECI Telecom Ltd. has bolstered its IP product portfolio with the $88 million purchase of Laurel Networks Inc. Laurel provides next generation IP/MPLS (multiprotocol label switching) multiservice edge routers, used for Internet protocol TV. Laurel said sales for its edge routers reached $18 million for the 12 months ending April 30, 2005.
Customers include Level 3 Communications Inc., Korea Telecom and Dacom Corp. In other IPTV news, Brooktrout Technology Inc. announced a partnership with Radvision Ltd., which incorporates Brooktrout's SnowShore IP Media Server and Radvision's Scopia advanced vide services platform.
