GlowPoint pitches video messages.(Broadband Week[TM]: Advanced Technologies for Video, Voice and Data Services)

Hoping to capitalize on MSOs' desire to marry different parts of their service platforms, GlowPoint Inc. is offering cable a session initation protocol-based client that lets consumers send and receive video over broadband connections. The "Instant Video Everywhere" software client works on PCs, cell phones or any other device that can be hooked into a broadband connection.
GlowPoint has a strategic alliance with Sony Corp. that allows consumers to download software from its Web site (www.glowpoint.com) and send video messages to others, CEO David Trachtenberg said.
