SILVER SPRING, MD. -- Samsung Electronics America Inc. and Discovery Communications Inc. said they'll team up to market Samsung HDTVs and Discovery's high-definition programming in more than 40 countries.

Under the long-term deal, Samsung will display Discovery HDTV content on more than 30,000 HDTVs worldwide, including locations in the United States.

The companies said venues would include exhibitions, public spaces and retail locations--although retail companies such as Best Buy and Circuit City typically decide on their own which programming to display on HDTV models on their store shelves.

Discovery and Samsung held their first join demonstration at Samsung's booth at the IFA Berlin consumer-electronics trade show last week....
