Apple downloads MTVN fare.(Apple Computer Inc. iTunes Music Store, MTV Networks Inc.)(Brief Article)

NEW YORK -- The assault on traditional linearTV continued apace last week as Apple Computer Inc'.s iTunes Music Store inked a pact with MTV Networks, making 40 shows from MTV, MTV2, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon available for download to PC or iPod. For $1.99 apiece, users can purchase installments of Laguna Beach, SpongeBob SquarePants, South Park and South of Nowhere.
Meanwhile, Google Video (video.google.com) has signed a deal with "roots and cultural" programmer BlueHighways TV that will give users access to 29 shows, including American Journey and Storyteller's Theater.
