Cuban Punctures Broadband Hype.(Mark Cuban)

By R. Thomas Umstead Pasadena, Calif.-- To many, broadband video is all the rage. Just don't count Mark Cuban among that group. The outspoken founder of HDNet and owner of the National Basketball Association's Dallas Mavericks believes the new medium is firing up air balls relative to producing quality original fare.

Cuban said that television, despite the recent flood of cable and broadcast networks launching video-rich Web channels, will remain the dominant platform for the distribution of popular content, especially as technology such as high-definition television becomes more prevalent.
