US Internet Scores Win In Minn.(Minnesota)(Brief article)

By Karen Brown After an extended technology bake-off, US Internet has beaten out EarthLink Inc. for a contract to build and operate a mesh Wi-Fi network for the city of Minneapolis. US Internet and its partner, mesh Wi-Fi gear provider BelAir Networks, will now build and deploy a network covering the city's 54-square-mile area -- one of the largest metro Wi-Fi network deployments yet -- at a cost of about $25 million.
The contract was awarded after a test competition, in which EarthLink and US Internet each built a network in a 1-mile-square area and city officials evaluated the results.
