WITH DRIVE-OFFS RISING ALMOST AS fast as gasoline prices and employee theft a constant concern, most convenience stores depend upon surveillance cameras like never before. The typical closed-circuit television security system for most c-stores consists of cameras, a monitor and either a VCR or DVR for recording activity inside the store, at the pumps and perhaps in the parking lot.

While having a system can be a deterrent in and of itself, scanning through hours of video is time-consuming and mostly inefficient. In this digital age, the standard VCR tape system is fast becoming obsolete in store security.
