ENDOWED CHAIR FOR NATIVE STUDIES --The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria have donated $1.5 million to Sonoma State University (SSU) to establish an endowed chair in Native American Studies. "An endowed chair is a prestigious position that attracts nationally recognized scholars," said Eduardo Ochoa, SSU provost and vice president for academic affairs.
An endowed chair is a faculty position funded from the earnings on the gift. Also, the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria gave $20,000 to an endowed student scholarship fund dedicated to providing educational opportunities for SSU students. Contact: Susan Kashack, SSU, (707) 664-2122.
