TI reaches 2K resolution: Texas Instruments unveils a prototype of its 2K DLP Cinema Projector. (Communique News).

At the ShoWest 2003 trade show in Las Vegas on March 3, Texas Instruments demonstrated its new 2K-resolution DLP Cinema Projector technology, quieting critics who believed that TI had unwittingly taken itself out of the digital-cinema resolution race. Designed to broaden TI's current DLP Cinema technology-enabled products offered by such manufacturers as BARCO, Christie and NEC View-technology/Digital Projection, the 2K-resolution system is capable of projecting on commercial theaters with large, premiere-quality screens.
