CMS: Qualified Individuals. Interim final rule. CMS for the first time reallocates funds used to pay the Medicare Part B premiums of people with incomes between 120 percent and 135 percent of poverty and who are otherwise ineligible for Medicaid, known as Qualifying Individuals. Of the $400 million allocated for FY05, $8.9 million will be redistributed from states that did not use their full allocations to states that overspent.
Thus, Alabama will receive $3.8 million; Arizona, $824,000; Connecticut, $2.3 million; Louisiana, $1.3 million; Mississippi, $566,000; and Oregon, $110,000.
