Lucent Technologies optical networking platforms certified by the Metro Ethernet Forum as 'MEF 14' compliant.(TECHNOLOGY)

Lucent Technologies announced that its SONET and SDH multi-service provisioning platforms (MSPPs) have received certification for compliance with the Metro Ethernet Forum's "MEF 14" specifications for metro Ethernet traffic management. The certification process is designed to evaluate platforms for their ability to support bandwidth management and performance criteria needed for Ethernet quality of service (QoS) and service level agreements (SLAs) in business and residential "triple-play" voice, data, and video services such as IPTV, video on demand, voice over IP, and more.
