Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. has been selected to build China Unicom's first 40Gbps optical transport network across five major cities (centering around Beijing) in Northern China.
According to China Unicom, the 40G WDM transport system will substantially increase its network capacity and enable it to meet the increasing demand for high-bandwidth broadband from China's business and residential customers using new multimedia services.
