Bones Found On Job Site.(Highway construction)(Brief Article)

Arlington, Wash.-- Work was halted on a road-improvement project near Arlington May 18 when a contractor working for the Washington State Department of Transportation unearthed a set of ancient bones on the north side of State Route 530. The bones were embedded in the dirt about 2 feet under a very large boulder near Arlington Heights Road.
Wilder Construction began working on the project April 27. This work is part of a $2.6-million project to widen the road, install a signal, guardrail, and overheard lights.
When they found the bones, crews stopped work immediately and contacted the Snohomish County Sheriff's Department as well as local tribes in the area, in accordance with WSDOT standard practices.
