It's not just a matter of heaping rocks into a big mound. Effective stockpiling involves placing the maximum volume of aggregates in a given space while maintaining the quality of the product.
There's more to it than meets the eye. The first concern is where to put stockpiles. Stockpile sites need to be level, well-drained and have adequate bearing capacity to support the weight of the material that is to be placed there.
