When it came time for Dow Industries to produce a label for Circle of Beauty last year, they turned to FLEXcon's EZ White pressure-sensitive film. Circle of Beauty, Sears' "store-within-a-store" health and beauty boutique, sells fragrances, makeup, skincare, bath, body and home products. The application called for glossy labels for various PP bottles containing products such as Skin IQ Bath & Body Care body lotion.
The labels needed to be hotstampable, easily printable and needed to retain their graphic brilliance when subjected to full-squeeze and semi-squeeze conditions once the containers got to the consumer.
FLEXcon started with a basic 2.4-mil white polypropylene facestock that is machine-direction-oriented, yielding good stiffness...
