Following last summer's Code Red campaign for Mountain Dew, Pepsi-Cola is getting into a blue mood, color-scheme-wise. In August, Pepsi-Cola North America, Purchase, NY, will nationally launch Pepsi Blue, a berry and cola soft drink "fusion" in 20-oz and 1-L polyethylene terephthalate bottles. Set to hit stores August 5, Pepsi Blue "was developed by and for teens," says Dave Burwick, senior vp of marketing for carbonated soft drink brands. "We talked to thousands of teens about creating a cola fusion, and they told us two things: Make it berry and make it blue. Teens understand fusion better than any other age group. They live it every day--in their music, fashion and culture."
